I made two of these adjustable braces to go between my stereo rack and the wall, to minimize the effect of floor vibrations and foot-falls on my turntable. They help, surprisingly well. I wanted them to be adjustable so that I could turn the carriage bolt in or out and thought it might aid their installation, but in the end, it could've been a simple piece of wood cut to the right length (that would've been a guess, not knowing how much push against the wall would be required to "anchor" the rack against the wall). It was a fun little thought experiment and fun to make, and with the expected results, I'm happy to have them in place.

In unrelated news, Peter's kitchen table only has three legs.

Nah, I got them from the peg-leg pirate down the street. Arrrr.

Really turned out nicely, Chris. And kudos for using the sun instead of electricity for drying your laundry! Here the Hysterical Society yells at people with laundry visible from the road (like that isn't historical).

Golf Sim garage. Got to hang the projector, side curtain, and the spotlight still, but we are getting close. Played a test round today. I have some kinks to work out, both with the setup and with the technology, but I'm getting close.

I wish I could take credit, but alas, that was the inside can until the day it got that dent. Then apparently it was too trashy for inside.

A 1/4" aluminum rod became a peanut butter stirrer. It's better than a spoon but I need to do better with the speed of the drill - too fast too early had the oil on top flying around.

A few I have been working on. The canvas is 30" by 40" and the wood is oak.

Does a coat hanger work for people who don’t buy it in 5 gallon buckets?

Gorgeous. Could you post a picture of the painting of the stream thru woods behind what I would call the Oak Flame?

I would but it's a so so landscape I bought at the thrift store. I bought it for the frame at $4. I will brake it down and over paint the pict. I save a lot of money by doing this.

Didn’t make it but we went looking for a mantle today at a reclaim lumber yard. We needed a pretty large piece at least 90” long and nothing higher then 4” with a depth around 7-8”. We looked in the mill house and found a few that worked around $400-$600. Sitting out in the rain in a pile of “$1 a board foot” we found this. $18 out the door! Held together with iron nails they think easily 80 years old.11 -
...was reading with the obligatory "TV too high" post, but saw it was a mirror. LOL

Found a mirror at a consignment store to go over the mantlepiece, fits the general decor of the house pretty well. I've spent the last couple years remodeling my Mom's house after she died.
