This is what I've managed to make so far.
The learning curve was pretty severe, but I think we've made it to the point where we understand how it all works.
In Fumo Pax Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy cigars and that's close enough.
@Yakster said: @0patience, are you going to try some cool pipe rests too?
I'd like to. May be a while though.
And I have to try and figure out what to do.
I have a bunch of cigar rests to do and each one takes some time and with the way things are going at work, I haven't been doing much the last couple days.

Last couple of years have been on the rough side which drew me away from the internet forum and more into the local B&M. About 9 months ago, I somehow got interested in working with vegetable tanned leather. I made a few items for myself which my fellow smokers at the local cigar shop liked and I have been challenged to make new cases for their products since. Lately, the Colibri SV has been the most popular, new, cutter.
Because it's on the bulkier side, I designed a case that would allow a belt to slip through making it very comfortable and accessible around the waist.

If it's a single, custom item, I can hand carve designs into the leather for an embossed or debossed look. If it's an order for multiple units, I then design the art on my computer and order a brass stamp which I can use on my press.
This is a hand-carved Protocol logo on the Xi case
This is a stamp I designed which is popular with first responders
This is a brass stamp that I use to add borders. The pic below is the spine of a custom case I designed for the Xikar XO
Beautiful work...it has probably been over 25 years since I have done any leather work but I spent many hours designing and creating back in the day...I still have some of my tools and some nice leather too...

All cool. When do you open an e-store? Put me down for a dragons head and an eagle talon.

It's a hobby right now. LOL!
I need reliable workers. I just have my sons.
Yes, you read that right. LOL!

Teeth and Talons and Horns? Oh, my! I'm already accident prone with my cigars. But I guess we could use all those pointy things as nubbers.
What is it?
Makes it easier to find base graphics if I know what it is.

@ShawnOL
Something like this is better than the orb one.
@VegasFrank
Like this? That one will take some doing. A lot of support filament will have to be done and then removed. It's do-able, but a ton of work.

Fantastic!

Stuck a kazoo in my roaster to amplify first crack.
Don’t let the cops catch you with that 🤣

That explains a fair amount actually.
At any given time the urge to sing "In The Jungle" is just a whim away... A whim away... A whim away...

That's a fine piece of kit!
Very nice, Niko!

Thanks guys. Working with leather has become an addiction to the point that the spousal unit is complaining.
This thread is a great idea, lots of talented BOTLs here.
Do you do your own debossing @variant2?

Cool, another leather crafter!
You might as well blow the dust off them tools and get cracking on some projects during this isolation period. I would love to see some of your work.
Leather holsters for your N95 mask, gloves, goggles, hand sanitizer, and a bleach wipe dispenser. LOL
Great work
I made a rolling kayak rack from spare casters, scrap lumber and four pairs of cheap kayak wall hooks from eBay.
