Frank I both agree and disagree, I’ve been where people “like me” don’t belong I thrust myself in a life (once upon a time) that isn’t me because it was exciting. I know the mind frame of some. Again some not all. Hence the agreement and disagreement. If working 90+ hours a week to bank as much as possible before I decided to start a family makes me elite, then I’m part of that club. My life and the choices I’ve made have shown me the real word, not what we want to believe.

You mean US citizens? 😆 So you mean that we are feeding the kids and not the deadbeat parents? Isn't that what you all were asking for in the first place? Hahahaha I live **** with you bro....

The new iPhone every six months is the part that really bothers me the most. I've never bought a new iPhone, just not worth it for me, but I know plenty of broke people who upgrade all the time.

Nope the stuff goes to the parents, not the kids. Every cent of help should only be put in that child’s stomach, no one else’s.

That’s the sob story they tell you. Yet they have have dogs, tattoos, new I phones, clothes, and a leased car. I’ve seen it far to many times to have sympathy for everyone. A very small select few, yes, but the vast majority are just pieces of ****.

Factually dead wrong. No Tats, one phone to share at home, one car between 4 adults, hoodies in the summer because that’s what they own….. you’re wrong on this one. But hey…. It’s just your opinion.

One out of a million. Address to help please. Yours is fine as long as it goes to them, and only them.

Yep. Been there, done that. Both sides of the issue. Been so poor that when I finally got something to eat I couldn't hold it down, had to eat a 1/2 piece of toast and diluted milk to keep it on my stomach. Done the 90 hour work-weeks for literally years on end, and still lost my house. Seen those who were so down so long they couldn't believe it possible to ever get up, and seen/been one of the ones who got up anyway. Never took Food Stamps or anything of the sort. I did eat at a Salvation Army Food Kitchen a time or two. And now I send $ to 2nd Harvest Food bank, Disabled Veterans, Habitat for Humanity, Room at the Inn, The Heifer Project, among others, because I know how it feels.

I don't believe anyone here begrudges help to any honest individual who needs it. But there are those others, too, whether you've met them or not, or know it or not.

There's a lot of hysteria, but there's a lot of really bad things out there, too. Immigration is a sore point with me, and not in the way that many will assume. Immigrants have always been one of our greatest assets, and we need to recognize that many many of those trying to come here from Central America only need to do so because our government spent the last 60 years or so messing with their governments and economies.

We've supported any and every kind of murderous thuggery that gives lip service to anti-communism in those places. We claim to want to bring them "the blessings of democracy", until they legitimately vote in some government that they want, that suits their needs, that we don't like or can't control. Chilean dictators, Noriega, whichever side of the San Salvadoran issue we were siding with that week. The list goes on and on.

Surely there must be some way to process these people at the border, keep their families together, and find some sort of work for them to do. From what I've seen, Americans could learn a hell of a lot about working and maintaining family bonds from many of them. Fear of "the other" is a too convenient tool for political manipulators to let go of. It's time to let go of those political manipulators, instead.

And that's why I remain the ultimate liberal. Not liberal in the new-speak sense which makes it synonymous with Socialist, but the true Liberals who founded our country by asserting rights to free speech, even though it may sometimes be offensive. The right to own the means to defend yourself and your family, and your property from those who would unlawfully take it, or twist the law to allow the same. That every person is equal, subject only to their own efforts. If they chose to be less, that's on them.

OK, my Blood Pressure's going up, so I'll shut up now. Going for pre-procedure stuff tomorrow, surgery's Tuesday. Wish me luck. Perhaps increased cardiac blood flow will make me less curmudgeonly.

    Maybe.

Everything will be better, just as soon as we get enough children and low skilled workers imported to fill the $15.00 minimum wage jobs we have available and just going unfilled. I think I heard there were over 9.3 million jobs available just last month. :D

    NOOOOOOO!!

Now this is not the end of the cigar. It is not even the beginning of the end of the cigar. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning of the cigar.
