Me too, we asked CCOM to change it back when it was first implemented but they said that Vanilla Forums is in charge and CCOM can't fix it.

They're probably correct.

Seems like I remember years ago when we had a couple of WOTL on the forum. They disappeared eventually. Maybe they felt uncomfortable with some of the threads. I don't recall them saying good bye. Could be we will get them back. Got to respect a gal that lights up a stogie.

You could be right, Rodger. Personally, I like this being more of a guy-space.

It doesn't seem to me that anyone is griping over the loss of that specific type of content, but over the idea of being under the thumb of a censoring overseer. We are grown men and do not want to be treated as though we are children.

Bro. This isn't a democracy. It's their forum and can and will do what they like with it. If they want to take down links we post to other sites..... that's their choice. I guarantee there are plenty of other forums out there that keep that type of stuff up..... people can go there instead if they feel like they are being treated like children. And they are a censoring overseer that allows for you to be here. This is a privilege, not a right. Be careful, They are eyeing up " A scripture a day...." thread to be removed next.

Whether or not something is a democracy does not determine a person's right to complain or share their thoughts.
Yes, once one thread goes others are likely to follow, that is called a slippery slope. I prefer to avoid those because I enjoy my freedoms.

This isn't true just FYI. I can't tell a restaurant owner that their waiters suck and still expect to be served.

Nevermind, @VegasFrank - I skimmed some comments that seemed to have gotten buried, so I can surmise what has occurred and requires an explanation.
Without giving away too much info, one of my many responsibilities is to constantly look at CIGAR.com as a whole, and come up with ways/ideas to make it a better experience for all. This is the time of year where we plan for things I'd like to have happen during 2023, and in an exploratory meeting, I once again raised the question about using a different Forum hosting program because like most of you, I don't like VanillaX.
Since moving to a new host would require said new host to basically copy all the data on here for a fluid transition, a group of web developers requested access to the Forum. All the cigar-related stuff to them made sense and was expected, but they went down the proverbial rabbit hole of non-cigar threads and found the posts in question. Granted most of those NSFW posts were old, but they reported back, raised a lot of legal questions, and immediately sent that report to the Executive level with me CC'd on it. I was told to remove them at-once and had no say in the matter due to the legalities surrounding the sensitive nature (and often imagery) associated with said posts.
Apologies for not remembering the screen name, but I did recall someone saying their PMs re: those posts got removed as well -- that is not something I can do or anyone else as a Moderator can do as they are PMs. Once the thread goes away, the messages associated with them are removed, they get erased from the Forum as well if they're linked.

Don't read this as an angry reply, it's not, but that's a boatload of assumption there. I appreciate the female form, and I appreciated seeing it here, as I spend NO time perusing the web for sites dedicated to it.
This is an age old argument. Society's whims ebb and flow. One generation creates magnificent sculptures of nudes, the next generation destroys the statues or nails fig leaves over the offending parts. A friend of mine visiting an Islamic country was surprised to find statuettes of fully nude males in the marketplace, while females were required to cover their entire bodies.
If any of the women in those pictures were forced against their will to pose, I've got a real problem with that. If they willingly flaunt their assets, I'm hard-wired to enjoy the show. If anyone doesn't like it, turn the page. As for finding such things multiple times on a daily basis, I'm too old. I'll miss the sight of the lovely female form that God saw fit to bless us with, but I'll not be searching high and low for it.
We assumed that what was happening was censorship, we've been trained to think that way. Perhaps it's been recognized that those kind of pictures bring viruses and hacking scammers? Who knows?
Oh, Lindsay does. Thanks @TheCigarChick for giving us the answer. We appreciate what you do.

@Amos_Umwhat , @Rdp77, and all those who took time to read, ingest, and not be "angered" in any way about my reply, thank you. I personally take the censorship argument very seriously on a multitude of fronts, and what I was asked to do was not censorship-based. While you need to be 21 to have a CCOM account, shop with us, and use the Forum, anything which could be considered pornographic in any sense of the term is so risky, and for us as a company could bring a host of issues to the table with severe repercussions.
As far as @Amos_Umwhat mentioned re: scammers, viruses, et al, that's a real threat as well. I'm proud of the work our cyber security teams do worldwide, but a few of our key competitors have been hacked this year; one of these competitors was knocked off-line for nearly a week and it put their entire business in jeopardy. The internet is a wonderful, amusing, and sometimes scary place, but ask anyone who's been the victim of fraud or identify theft and they'll tell you the hellacious details behind their experiences.
Once again, I appreciate that most of you are understanding of the situation. I hope you know I mean it 100% that one thing I want to be is as transparent as possible as you folks deserve to know the truth. Many of you have been on this forum for eons, and I am always happy to interact with everyone, forging friendships in the name of cigars.
Thanks, Lindsay, for this insight and for your willingness to help our forum family. Anyone with half a brain can see that in today's world Ccom's actions were inevitable and understandable... maybe not appreciated, but understood.
I remember smoking with you and a couple of others in Hangouts a while back. Maybe before it gets too cold there in PA, you can join our Zoom call - the vHerf thingie - it'd be great to see you again.

To @Amos_Umwhat's point about wokeism, if all those pics in the two threads were women who identified as men, that would really mess with some heads.
