An hour ago, I was leaving for my daily 30-min. walk around the park, but instead of heading through the front yard, I headed through the alley to drop off some garbage. A few houses down I spotted a wooden pole in a neighbor's bin and instantly recalled why I often and fondly call the alley The Alley of Provision. Turns out it was a 48" curtain rod, so I plucked it out of the bin thinking there'll certainly be a time when I 'need' some 1" dowel. Then I thought maybe it'd make a good walking stick, and before you could say "Schmidt, you're a dope" I was on my walk around the park w/ one in each hand. It's called Nordic Walking, don't you know. Today's a warm spring day, so there were lots of folks out and about, and gauging their expressions, my appearance was one of a doofus. But hey, if you're going to be a trend-setter, sometimes playing the doofus is what's required.
Had a red squirrel climbing up the pole to get at our suet feeder. Greased the pole with Vaseline, burned a robusto, and watched the squirrel get half way up and slide down over and over. Fun.
Spent a fun few hours with the snowblower & shovel digging out the van and trying to get a wide enough path to move it. There’s a solid 10 feet of 4 foot deep snow between the van & the front of the boat. Somewhere in all that is the boat trailer hitch.
I'm still troubled by what I did for that Klondike bar...
Spotted my first hummingbird of '22. Too quick for pic.

Explained, over the phone, where the air compressor is, how to turn it on, how to attach the air chuck ( quick connect), how it put air into a tire. 15 minutes.
Came home and changed the tire.

Blood work came back clear for nicotine, saved 1700 a year on premium! Didn’t know if I should put it here, or in “things I love” thread! Extra cigar money!
Dug out my crate of canning jars from the garage looking for a large half-gallon jar for the Wife for some produce but found none such size. Instead I set the crate aside to pull out, wash up, and use the 4 oz and 8 oz jelly jars I found for pipe tobacco storage.
I ended up dumping some old green coffee from 2012 from a half-gallon canning jar to wash up and give to the Wife for her needs.

Headed out to do the semi-annual roto rooter at the rent house, it's hard being a slum lord.
Don't let the wife know what you spend on guns, ammo or cigars.
Geared up and headed to a Crystal Fair in Walnut Creek.
A say what?
I'm going for the rocks and minerals but they'll have all sorts of psychic woo woo for sure.
When we go to gem and jewelry shows it's mostly jewelry.
Found a little trick online for help getting stubborn jeep doors off! Not bad for $9.
Find anything that makes it easier to get a rag top back on yet??

Upon seeing the picture I thought it may have been a Grateful Dead tribute band
When I saw that picture I had to immediately check the What's In Your Pipe thread.
Trapped in the People's Communist Republic of Massachusetts.
Lost a fair bit of snow yesterday. I can see the tops of the chairs around the fire pit and the door handles on the van.

I pulled the top half of the doors and all the windows but think I'll leave the top on.
Hey, I've got one of those around here somewhere, now I just need a Jeep. They work great for carrying 4' x 8' sheets of plywood and drywall.

Finally got to the bottom of the suitcase so I can get that off the cooler, been home 6 weeks and finally feel moved in.

It'll be fine once the swelling goes down.
Humming Birds showed up yesterday and we set two feeders out.
Was talking about it on vherf last night here's the pretty girl with summer rims and tires back on
It started snowing again
Supposed to hit 97 today, was thinking of firing up the smoker but may just throw the meat on the table out back, it will be done by dinner time.
Damn and the Camaro shrank
It's cold!
