Silvermouse, you may have come up with the all-time winner right there.
“It has been a source of great pain to me to have met with so many among [my] opponents who had not the liberality to distinguish between political and social opposition; who transferred at once to the person, the hatred they bore to his political opinions.” —Thomas Jefferson (1808)
Some stories are just too dumb for us to ignore. As a case in point, West Hollywood just presented their "Key to the City" to porn actress Stormy Daniels for her great community service in **** married men and violating non-disclosure agreements.
Of course, that's not what they said she was being honored for. Rather, it was for her tremendous leadership in the "resist" movement (even though she didn't "resist" and never has unless she was worried that the check wouldn't clear) and for "speaking truth to power," which makes us wonder what the hell "truth" they're talking about. This is hardly a Wikileaks type situation, although Ms. Daniels should get full credit for kicking off the new phenomenon of Dikileaks.
We'd say more, but we have a sudden urge to go register a new domain name.
Meanwhile in Boston, Joel Martinez, a Salvadoran illegal alien, told the court “I stabbed the culero three times” when admitting he killed a 15 year old boy as part of his MS-13 initiation. Martinez admission bought him a 40 year max sentence followed by deportation, depending who is president at the time. But none of that is the part you can't make up. Here's the part you can't make up: Joel's gang nickname is Animal.
These MS-13 scum are just pathetic! Clearly zero regard for any life. The true scary $hit is I’ve seen at least two MS-13 members at the run down gas station I buy my lotto tickets from.... hey I get good numbers from there. I have personally looked into the eyes of one of these tatted up MS fools, guy was staring at me in the other line....clearly wasn’t smart on my part but I’m not a coward, they feed off fear, he was testing me. I turned my head he turned his and went about my business. Simple truth is that guy could have decided to kill me right then and there just for looking at him wrong... BTW that gas stations been robbed numerous times in the last 5 years...never used to be this way 10 years ago, another reason we need to BUILD THE WALL!

I wonder if the irony ever occurs to Californians? In the mid 20th century it was considered the mecca of non-conformists and tolerance. Since that time it has become the most polarizing, uptight, over-reaching authoritarian regime in these once United States.

Intolerance in the name of tolerance is the oddest sort of bigotry.

there's something beautiful about working on a farm, growing and harvesting food for others. It's a great introduction to work-life for young folk. Not so much any more.

When I was young, about 13, we'd get on a bus and it would drive us about 100 miles to the Valley and we'd pick strawberries. We could make $15-30 if you worked hard and fast. At a time when minimum wage was $2.10, it wasn't bad for a young kid to make.
Although, that would never happen today, cause I guess you can no longer hire kids to do manual labor.

I see in the news today that the Miss America competition is dropping the swimsuit portion of the... competition. (NOT pageant)
Apparently, women hate to be looked at.
After all the fashion, jewelry, make-up, make-overs, shoes, matching bags, hats, lingerie, and sparkly things in general, I guess I'd been misled by misogynists to believe that women liked appearing attractive.
Who knew?

Stabbed her neighbor repeatedly with a steak knife. She was released on $20,500 bond. Say What? RELEASED?
BUILD A BIGGER JAIL!!!
No room at the inn. Gotta keep all those 16 year old clockers locked up for life for selling a gram of crack to the mayors kid on graduation night.

My personal humble opinion is that I don't care who you are, if you sell crack (and a few other drugs) you belong in prison, no matter your age. But the laws that put so many people behind bars for pot are the laws I think need changing. Medical use (I am a believer) should be made legal nationwide as soon as possible. Recreational use will follow suit. B&M, regulated and taxed, it will happen. And with that is a golden opportunity to follow the product all the way back to the source. If it ain't grown here you can't sell it here.

I do, in fact, agree with you that if you're selling crack, or even worse meth, jail time is deserved. Just not the insanely long sentences that some of those kids got. Some of them only had this choice; "sell this for us, or your family dies."
I personally knew the family of a 16 year old from the Bronx. That was the choice he was given. He went to Riker's Island after being tried as an "adult". Lasted 3 weeks. 27 "shank" wounds later, he was dead.
Guess it just hit a little close to home, y'know?

So people in one of the local towns are all wound up because elk are "dangerous", cause momma elk gets a little pissy cause they get too close to their babies. And rightly so. So now, they want to do birth control on the elk to keep this from happening. When I was asked what I thought, my comment was maybe those people who have moved here and are complaining should go back to where they moved here from or understand what it's like to be a local.
This area is one of the largest elk populations in the world, with possibly exception of Yellowstone. We have the largest concentration of elk just about anywhere. And some people wish to destroy that, because the elk are encroaching on their properties.
Many of you have seen a lot of the elk pictures I have posted of them in my yard, at my work and locally and are aware of how much they are a part of every day life here. Personally and largely because of what Wapiti mean to my heritage I don't think they should do anything, except educate people on when elk become protective. Hunting elk has done well to keep the population down and feeds a lot of families. Stagnating the population by sterilization is not the answer.
Just my opinion.

These are the same people that try to take selfies with bears and end up mauled. I hate to see such over reaching intervention with native species. In Colorado we had the Estes Park elk. Basically 1000 pound breathing yard ornaments is how they were treated. And every year a few people would be charged or whatever because the tourists come and try to hand feed them. That's a wild animal, and if you ever forget it, they will remind you.

California bans travel to another state based on its 'discriminatory' LGBT adoption law
So it is banning state funded and state sponsored travel to Oklahoma.
What's next, a full on ban to everywhere?

But Oregon follows Californication, probably cause half of the state are transplants.
